Funeral Rites to Be Thursday AfternoonFuneral services for Harry W. BARKER, 68, who died at his home, 1026 2nd N.W., Monday afternoon [March 31, 1947], will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Major Memorial chapel, with the Rev. Lloyd A. GUSTAFSON, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiating.
Mr. BARKER was born Jan. 10, 1879, at Reinbeck, Iowa [the son of John Comstock and Elizabeth Ann (HARRISON) BARKER], and came to Mason City Dec. 25, 1925. He had been employed as district representative of the Weyerhaeuser Sales company for 41 years. He had made his home in Mason City since 1925.
A member of the First Methodist church, Mr. BARKER had been on the official board for the past 18 years and was very active in church work until his death. He also was a member of the U.C.T. of which he was a seniior counselor, and the I.O.O.F. and the Masonic lodge.
Surviving are his wife [Jeannette A. (COOK)], 3 sons, Leonard Marion BARKER, Chicago; Glen W. BARKER, Longview, Wash.; and Richard H. BARKER, St. Paul, Minn.; 3 grandsons and 2 granddaughters, Charlotte and Stephen BARKER, Chicago; Ronald and Dale BARKER, Longview, Wash.; and Judith and Kay BARKER, St. Paul, Minn.
Three brothers, George F. BARKER, Colgate, Sask., Canada; Purc E. BARKER, Virginia, Minn.; and Ralph A. BARKER, Duluth, Minn., also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Burial will be at Elmwood cemetery. The Major funeral home in charge.

Rites Conducted at Local Funeral ChapelFuneral services for Harry W. BARKER, 68, who died at his home, 1026 2nd N.W., Monday [March 31, 1947], were held at the Major Memorial chapel Thursday afternoonwith the Doctor Lloyd A. GUSTAFSON, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. George A. SHIELDS.
Mrs. Roy SERVISON played obsequial music on the organ.
Mrs. Jay TUBBESING and Mrs. Esther PAGENHART were in charge of flowers.
Members of the Weyerhaeuser Sales company of St. Paul, Minn., and the members f the Tuckabatchee Sunday School class of the First Methodist church attended the services.
Pallbearers were Lyle DILLON, Jay TUBBESING, C. O. JOHNSON, Dan KLEMPNAUER, Carl KLATH and William P. BUTLER. Interment was at Elmwood cemetery. The Majof funeral home in charge.
