MASON CITY — Marilyn V. McDaid, 49, 1522 N. President, died Sunday (May 26, 1985) at home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 722 N. Adams, Mason City, with Rev. Paul Lippstock officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Mason City.

Marilyn McDaid was born Feb. 29, 1936, at Forest City to Maynard and Loretta (Kelly) Nielsen. She attended Forest City schools and graduated from Forest City High School in 1954. She was also a graduate of La James College of Cosmetology, Mason City. She was married to Shaun G McDaid Aug. 16, 1958, at Forest City. She had been a resident of Mason City since 1958.

Mrs. McDaid served as a home-helper serving the elderly in the Cerro Gordo County area through the Cerro Gordo County Home-maker/Home Health Aide Service. She was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church St. John's Circle at the church, member of the Catholic Daughters of America, taught CCD at Central Catholic Schools, Mason City, and served as a Lay distributor at Holy Family Catholic Church.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd NE, with a parish wake at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband, Shaun; four daughters, Mrs. Randy (Mary) Klang, Mrs. Jack (Rose) Swenson, Collette and Eileen McDaid, all of Mason City; two sons, Shaun of Faribault, Minn., and Brian, of Mason City; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Nielsen of Ventura; two sisters, Mrs. Richard (Janette) Schmidt of Nebraska City, Neb. and Rosemary Shoop of Clear Lake; 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
