Peter O. Petersen was born March 31, 1886 in Hancock County near Miller, to Peter O. and Marie Knutson Petersen. He was married to Anna Andersen on Nov. 27, 1913 at Clear Lake. They farmed near Swaledale before moving to a farm north of Clear Lake and in 1943 moved their farm one mile west of Ventura. Mrs. Petersen preceded him in death in August of 1966.
Mr. Petersen resided in Ventura and later entered the Concord Manor Nursing Home. He died on Friday afternoon, Oct. 27 at the age of 92 years.
Survivors include: one son, Everett of Ventura; two daughters, Virginia Tice of Klemme and Genevieve Martin of Clear Lake; a brother, Fred W. Petersen, Mason City; six grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, four sisters and two brothers.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel with the Rev. E. M Miller of Ventura officiating. Interment was in the Clear Lake Cemetery.
Organist was Mrs. Tom Treloar and Larry Shaffer was the soloist. Pallbearers were Jim Tice, Jack Lambert, Ervin Janssen, Horace Petersen, Curtis Grieman and Curtis Upmeyer.
