G. A. Eddy, Swaledale, dies at 75
Swaledale—Glenn A. Eddy, 75, founder and owner of Eddy and Sons, Swaledale lumber company, died Sunday at a Mason City hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Swaledale.
Burial is planned in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Swaledale. Masonic services will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Wartnaby Grarup Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials.
Mr. Eddy had been in the lumber and hardware business in Swaledale the last 53 years. He is a past mayor of Swaledale, past president of Midwest Lumber Dealers Assn., was on the board on the Modern Woodmen of America, and was a director of the America State Bank in Mason City.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; three sons, Glenn, Elmer and Leo, all of Swaledale; three daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Ruth) Martin, Webster City; Mrs. Albert (Marjorie) Miller, Rochester, Minn., and Mrs. Glenn (Norma) Hanson, Forest City; 23 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one sister, Mrs. Herman Roeser, Jersey City, N. J.
