"Mr. Donald W. Coyle, 74, of Ventura, Iowa, died Monday, July 25, 1994, at his home in Ventura.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 28, at Ventura United Methodist Church, Ventura, with the Rev. David Gobeli officiating. Internment was in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa. Military honors were by the Clear Lake V. F. W.
The family suggests memorials to Donald W. Coyle Memorial Fund.
Donald Coyle was born March 15, 1920, in Thornton, Iowa, the son of Edward T. and Dulcie (Hartwig) Coyle. Donald graduated from Thornton High School in 1939. He served in the Army during World War II. After the service he moved back to Thornton where he worked in the locker, did carpenter work and farming. Ref: Dulcie (nee) Hartwig.
Donald was married Mary Swenson on Jan. 22, 1949, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, in Thornton. They moved to Ventura in 1949 where he purchased the Ventura Locker and operated it until 1972. He started working for the State of Iowa as a meat inspector in 1975 and continured to do so until his retirement in 1985.
He enjoyed his family, friends and working with antiques. He loved to travel, and spent their winters in Mission, Texas. He was a member of the Methodist Church, former member of Ventura City Council and was a life member of Clear Lake V.F.W.
He is survived by his wife Mary Coyle, Ventura; two sister, Mrs. Vivian Buss and her husband, Gerald, Hampton, Iowa; Mrs. Doris Jeffrey, Rockford, Iowa; four brothers, Edward Coyle, and his wife Gwyne, Ames, Iowa; Charles Coyle and his wife, Col, Blackduck, Minn.; and James Coyle and his wife, Judy, Beaver Dam, Wis.; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Stanley Coyle."
