Eleanor A. Zweck
DOUGHERTY- A Mass of the Resurrection will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dougherty, for Mrs. Eleanor A. Zweck, 81, of 4 Third St. N. W., Mason City, formerly of Dougherty.
She died Wednesday (May 4, 1988) at a Mason City hospital.
The Rev. Linus Rasing will officiate and burial will be in St. Patrick's School, Dougherty where a parish rosary will be said at 7:30 tonight.
Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St., Mason City, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Zweck was born July 8, 1906, in Dougherty to Daniel J. and Rose E. (McMenimen) McLaughlin. She attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, where she received normal training, and then taught rural school in the Dougherty area.
On Sept. 24, 1928, she married Leonard A. Zweck in Dougherty. She farmed with her husband east of Dougherty for many years. For the past 3 1/2 years, Mrs. Zweck had lived in Mason City.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Catholic Ladies Auxiliary, Altar and Rosary Society and the Senior Citizens, all in Dougherty.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. John (Darlene) Morgan, Charles City, and Mrs Robert (Mary Margaret) Reed, Dougherty; four sons, John L. "Jack", Erie, Colo.; Donald J., Dougherty; Robert "Bob", Oxford, Ala., and Joseph "Joe", Cannon Falls, Minn.; 23 grandchldren; 16 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Maurice (Lewene) Cassidy, Rockwell; Mrs. Bernard (Leona) Fox, Charles City; and Mrs Walt (Marcella) Jackson, Clear Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and one granddaughter.
