Marvin E. Clifton
MASON CITY- Marvin E. Clifton, 46, of 411 21st St. S.W., died Wednesday (July 19, 1989) at home of natural causes.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 302 Fifth St. S.E., with the Rev. Wayne Ressler officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.
Visitation is after 3 p.m., today at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., where there will be a Scriptural wake service at 7 tonight.
The family requests memorials be made to the Marvin E. Clifton Memorial Fund.
He was born Oct. 16, 1942, in Iowa Falls, a son of Henry and Arloene (Newton) Clifton.
He married Marlene A. Gaubatz on April 4, 1964, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rockwell. He was a graduate of Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock High School. He was employed at Pepsi-Cola, Armour Country Trucking and Moorman's Manufacturing. He was also a representative for Garst Seed Corn. For the past three years he had been employed at Fast Food Merchandisers, Mason City.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Mr. Clifton was a car enthusiast and enjoyed hunting and trapping.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene, Mason City; three daughters, Mrs. David (Michele) Bamrick, Rockwell; Melissa Clifton and Melinda Clifton, both of Mason City; one grandson; one sister, Susan Comly, Des Moines; two brothers, M.L. "Duke" of Missouri Valley, and Richard, North Mankato, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
