After a short year of married life Mrs. Mabel Brown, wife of William Brown, passed away Sabbeth morning at 1 o'clock. She had been ill for the past two months and seriously ill for the past two weeks and no medical skill could have saved her life. She was twenty-four years of age and a bright and lovable woman and the husband has lost a very helpful companion and the family one who was much beloved by them. The deceased was a member of the Congregational church, a hopeful Christian, full of sunshine and optimism and was continually lightening the burdens of those about her. The funeral will occur at the farm home south of the city a mile and a half, on Tuesday morning at ten o'clock, Rev. Rogers officating. The interment will be at Elmwood. Mason City, Iowa 12 Dec 1901.
