The funeral services for Gustav Fredrich Radunzel, age 64 years, who died here early Saturday morning at his home, were held yesterday at the St. James German Lutheran church. Rev. A. F. Karsten, pastor of the church officiated. Interment was made at Elmwood cemetery.
Mr. Radunzel had retained excellant health until the morning of his death. At the time of his death he was employed in the yards of the Farmer's Brick & Tile Co. During the latter part of the forenoon Friday he was taken ill, and was forced to cease his labors and go home.
That night he was stricken with apoplexy.
Born in Germany Oct 25, 1849, Mr.Randunzel spent his early years in seeking the rudiments of an education in the Fatherland. In 1870, while still a young man, Mr. Radunzel took an active part in the German-French war. He was in the seige of Paris, a memoriable event in history of which he was often fond of telling to initimate friends.
Hearing of the new land, Mr. Radunzel came to the United States in 1888 with his wife, who before her marriage was Miss Wilhemia Andres. Six children blessed their union: Mrs. P. Tiepten, Augusta Radunzel Jr., and Ida Radunzel of this city and Mrs. Louise Kruse and Marie Chapman, residents of the state of Washington.
