DOUGHERTY
Margaretha L. Hogan 84, of Dougherty, died Friday
(Feb. 17, 2006)at Rockwell Community Nursing Home, Rockwell.A funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dougherty, with the Rev. Craig E. Steimel and the Rev. John O'Connor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Dougherty. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's School, Dougherty where a scriptural wake service will be held at 7 p.m.
Margaretha L. Hogan was born September 1, 1921, at Hamburg, Iowa, a daughter of Emil and Josephine (Ellerson) Miller. She was united in marriage to Raymond C. Hogan on June 25, 1974 at St. Joseph Catholic church, Mason City.
She attended West Union Schools and was a graduate of West Union School, West Union. Following their marriage, Ray and Margaretha made their home in Dougherty. For several years she worked in customer service at Sears & Roebuck, Mason City.
Margaretha enjoyed traveling, visiting her family, antiques and swapping recipes.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Domestic Club, all in Dougherty.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Catherine (Cathy) and her husband Jim, Aurora, Colo., and Laura Hogan, Sheffield; a grandson, Jared Arndt, Sheffield; two brothers, Robert (Loretta) Miller, Calif.; Ken (Cheryl) Miller, Sisters Ore.; a sister Donna Ruth (Jack) Ulstad, Sisters, Ore.; two sisters-in-law, Mary Rose (John) Scanlon, Minnetonka, Minn. and Nancy Hogan, Fountain Hills, Ariz., a brother-in-law, Marvin McKee, St. Paul, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray; and brother-in-law, Charles J. Hogan.
