Amacia A. Simmons dies at 74

Mrs Amacia Adine Simmons, 74, 214 1st SW, died Sunday in a Mason City hospital. She was born April 25, 1892, in Jamaica, British West Indes, the daughter of Henry and Marie (Chandler)Leith.

She was married to Richard O. Simmons in Mason City May 8, 1921. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include three sons, Joslyn Sherriffe of New York City, Louie Sherriffe of Oakland, Calif., and Archie Simmons of Evanston, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Maurice (Clarice) Coakley of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Mrs. Timothy (Ivy) Lewis of Tallahassee, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The time of services has not been set. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McAuley-Bremer Funeral Home.
