Joseph Burke, 67, Found Dead in Mason City Hotel

The body of Joseph Burke, 67, of 225 First N.W. was found in the lavatory of a Mason City hotel late Tuesday afternoon. Police said he had died of a heart attack.

He was born in New York City Sept. 16, 1885, and was a veteran of World War I.
He was a carpenter by trade and was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church.

Surviving are two sons, James of Mason City, and Alfred in the Army at Ft. Riley, Kans., and three daughters, Mary, Mason City, and Jean and Joan, Minneapolis, and two brothers and a sister.
His divorced wife, Carrie, also lives in Mason City. He was preceded in death by a son, Leo, who drowned in Clear Lake in 1946.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The Patterson-James Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
