Hi Jane. Cedar county didn't start keeping death records until the 1880's and not all deaths were recorded then. In the Stones and Sites of Cedar Co. book, the is only one Whisler burial.

This may be a son of your Joseph? This cemetery also has a lot of LaRue's buried there. It is possible that Joseph is buried there, but his stone is gone. Hope this is of help.
