John Bruffey Cochran death record please

My name is Sharon Cochran Wallace and I am from West Virginia. I am looking for any information on "John Bruffey Cochran. He was born in Virginia (now West Virginia) around 1824 and married Elizabeth Cochran Young around 1866. After John and Elizabeth were married, they left West Virginia and moved to Iowa. I found Elizabeth in the 1870 Iowa, Cedar County, Inland Twp US Census with her two youngest boys and one daughter. I also found Elizabeth and one son in the 1880 US Census at the same location, again without John. I am guessing that he died some time between 1866 and 1870, and am also guessing that he died in Iowa. I found Elizabeth listed as being buried at the Inland Cemetery there in Cedar County, but no mention of John. Any information on his death and burial would be a tremendous help. If I can be of any help to you on West Virginia information, please let me know.
