Funeral services for Herbert Otto, 89, Durant, were held May 31, 1988 at Lacock Funeral Home in Durant, with burial in the Durant cemetery. Pallbearers were Kenneth Paulsen, Leo Hein, Kenneth Finck, Dan, Thomas and Dale Schlapkohl.

Mr. Otto died May 27 at the Wilton Nursing Home.

He married Irene Johannsen in 1920 in Davenport. She died in 1984.

Mr. Otto was a retired farmer and a member of the Durant Senior Citizens and Durant Cemetery Board. A memorial fund has been established.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Lenora) Schlapkohl, Durant; 3 grandsons; 5 great-grandchildren; a sister, Esther Stoltenberg, Davenport and a brother, Elden, Durant.
