Funeral services for John L. Hammerich, 60, Durant, were held April 21, 1988 at Zion Lutheran church in Wilton. Pallbearers were Mike, Steve, Neil and Scott Petersen, and Henry and Wilbur Hammerich. Burial, with military rites, was in the Oakdale cemetery, Wilton.

Mr. Hammerich died April 19 at Russelloy Foundry in Durant, where he was employed for the past 20 years.

The son of Louis and Emma Marolf Hammerich, he was born April 16, 1928 in Muscatine. He never married and was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Germany. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, Durant.

Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran church in Wilton.

Mr. Hammerich is survived by a sister, Mrs. Art (Dorothy) Petersen, Durant and 4 nephews.
