Funeral services for Carl Henry Haesemeyer, 74, retired Cedar county banker, were held at St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence, April 9, with the Rev. R. Reagan Benedict officiating. Burial was in the Stanwood cemetery. Pallbearers were Joseph Best, Willard Hoyman, Glenn Thumma, James Stone, Don Ropa and Dillon Jones. Honorary bearers were William Hansen, Ralph Nodurft, L. W. Meyer, William Davidson and Kenneth Smith. Mrs. Robert Hasselbusch was organist and Dr. Alan J. Brinkman and Jane Pini were vocalist.

Mr. Haesemeyer died at his home in Stanwood April 6.

The son of Christian Henry and Wilhemina Lehrman, he was born at Stanwood March 6, 1914. He was a graduate of Stanwood high school.

Mr. Haesemeyer's father became associated with banking in Stanwood in 1897 and Carl carried on the family tradition, being active in banking for 50 years as owner and president of the Union Trust and Savings bank of Stanwood and Olin.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the navy, being released from active duty in November, 1945 as a lieutenant junior grade.

Mr. Haesemeyer was married to Hazel Ulferts in Stanwood July 26, 1944.

Active in civic affairs in Stanwood, he was a member of the Stanwood school board, the Stanwood city council and the Stanwood fire department. He was a member of the Stanwood Lions club.

Mr. Haesemeyer is survived by his wife; a daughter, Carlotta Childs, Milwaukee, Wis.; 2 sons, Brooks, Mechanicsville and Vance, Hudson, Wis.; 2 grandchildren; a brother, Wilfred, State Center and 2 sisters, Irene Jacob, Zanesville, Ohio and Evelyn Opheim, Clear Lake.
