Funeral services for Carl C. Kleppe, 70, retired farmer, were held at the Rochester United Methodist church March 26 with the Rev. Norman Anderson officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery at Davenport. Pallbearers were Jeff, Brian and Dean Leggins, Chris, Cary and Craig Stender, Tony Schneckloth, Carl and Chris Kleppe. Sharon Stiff was the organist.

Mr. Kleppe died at Mercy hospital, Davenport, March 23. The son of Carl (Charles) and Augusta Rixe Kleppe, he was born at Tipton April 4, 1917. He married Mildred McFarland at Wilton Nov. 14, 1940. He farmed most of his life in the New Liberty area, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Rochester United Methodist church.

Mr. Kleppe is survived by his wife; a son, Carl Arlo, Moscow; 6 daughters, Carol Leggins, Bennett; Mrs. Gary (Marlene) Burkamper, Grand Mound; Mrs. Ronald (Marcella) Schneckloth, Davenport; Mrs. Daniel (Yvonne) Ralfs and Mrs. Steven (Rita) Stender, both of Walcott; and Mrs. Delbert (Wanda) Schumacher, Davenport; 19 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Harry, Sumner and Edward, Mechanicsville and 6 sisters, Ella Helmold and Helen Graham, both of Tipton; Dorothy Raap, Davenport; Genevieve Schott, Coggon; Laverna Raap, Wheatland and Irene Hemerson, Bradgate.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and a granddaughter.
