Funeral services for Keith Duane Conrad, 61, were held at the First Presbyterian church, Mechanicsville, Jan. 28 with the Rev. Jaymee Glenn Burns officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery with military services by the Busch-Dennis post of the American Legion. Mrs. Dorothy Russell was organist and Inis Huffman was soloist.

Mr. Conrad died at Veterans hospital, Iowa City Jan. 25.

The son of Maurice and Agnes Brown Conrad, he was born at Quasqueton Oct. 14, 1926. He graduated from Winthrop high school in 1942 and served in the US Navy during World War II.

He was married to Elizabeth Coulter at Independence Nov. 27, 1946. He worked in the lumber business most of his life and was part owner and manager of Conrad's Corner Cashway in Fairbank and the Little Bandit Lumber Co. in Lisbon.

He was a member of First Presbyterian church, Mechanicsville, was a twice past master of Mt. Vernon Lodge No. 112, AF&AM and a member of the Busch-Dennis post of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife; 6 children, Reece, Fairbank; Connie and Katha, Mechanicsville; Cynthia Ament, Mt. Vernon; Keith Danny, Fairbank and Mary Angela Caldwell, Westminster, Colo.; 2 sisters, Mrs. Ronald Decker and Mrs. Dick Kinney, both of Winthrop; a brother, Ronald (Bud) Conrad, Winthrop and 4 granddaughters, Katie and Carrie Conrad and Krista and Kelly Ament.
