Last rites for David Bieler, 73, were held at St. Paul's Episcopal church, Durant, Jan. 30 with the Rev. Peter Sickels officiating. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.

Mr. Bieler died at Mercy hospital, Davenport, Jan. 27.

The son of Jake and Lydia Yoder Bieler, he was born at Arthur, Ill. March 15, 1914. He was married to Estelle Jensen at Durant Oct. 3, 1959.

He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Durant American Legion. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal church. He was employed by the Pioneer Seed Co. before he retired.

Mr. Bieler is survived by his wife, Muscatine Care center; 2 stepdaughters, Jody Meyers of Oregon and Dorothy Edwards, Stockton; 2 brothers, John, Decatur, Ill. and Levi of Florida and 2 sisters, Mrs. Steve (Maymie) Conners, Vero Beach, Fla. and Kate Hickels of California. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister.
