Funeral services for Mrs. Andrew (Alma Elizabeth) Wendel, 92, were held at Durant Oct. 9 with the Rev. David Lawson officiating. Burial was in the Durant cemetery. Pallbearers were Matt and Steve Korthaus, Andy and Larry Wendel, Chet Fuller and Leroy Steffen.

Mrs. Wendel died at the Wilton Nursing Home Oct. 6.

The daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Schultz Steffen, she was born in Muscatine county April 13, 1895. She was married to Andrew Wendel Dec. 17, 1919. He died in 1960. She was a homemaker and seamstress.

She is survived by 2 sons, Ernest, Bennett and Delmar, Belin, N.M.; 2 daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Ima) Belter, Lowden and Ruby Korthaus, Rock Island; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Alfreda Harmsen, Durant. She was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
