Last rites for Albert l. Strefling, 68, were held at First United Church of Christ Oct. 10 with the Rev. Robert Molsberry officiating. Burial was in the Rochester cemetery. Masonic services were held Oct. 9.
Vocalists were Lynette Krutsinger and Larry Wallace and Betty Trevathan was organist. Pallbearers were Dale, Glen and Bob Thumma, Herman Helmold, Richard Anderson and Bill Stiff. Honorary bearers were George Tevis, John Barnhart and Edward Rigby.
Mr. Strefling died at his home Oct. 7.
The son of Adolph and Julia Kluge Strefling, he was born at Gallen, Mich. Jan. 29, 1919. He was educated in the Gallen schools and was married to Edna M. Born at Dolton, Ill. Nov. 19, 1938.
He farmed and worked for 10 years at Westinghouse in Iowa City. He was a resident of the Tipton community for 24 years.
Mr. Strefling was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Tipton Country club, Golden Rule Lodge No. 24, AF&AM and First United Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, a son, Roger, Tipton; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Karen) Zobel, Tipton; 5 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mrs. Edward (Edna) Geik, Kalamazoo, Mich.; Adeliene Geik, Gallen, Mich. and Margrete Stanage, Mexico and 3 brothers, Alfred, Waterveliet, Mich; Robert, Galien, Mich. and Clarence, Port Charlotte, Fla. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers.
