Funeral services for Ronald Christensen, 55, West Branch, were held Aug. 18, 1987 at the United Methodist church in West Branch, with military honors and burial at the West Branch cemetery. The Rev. Samuel J. Hahn officiated.
Mr. Christensen died Aug. 14 at his home in West Branch after suffering a heart attack.
The son of Alvin and Blanche Melson Christensen, he was born July 28, 1932 near Muscatine. He married Carolyn Jackson March 30, 1980 in California. He had been employed as an auto body repairman and at the time of his death worked at Sheller Globe in Iowa City. He was a U.S. Marine during World War II.
Mr. Christensen is survived by his wife, his parents, 3 sons, Ronald Jr., Mt. Pleasant; Brad, stationed in California and Michael, Davenport; 5 daughters, Roxie Lopez and Lynn Anaya, both of New Mexico, Donna Christensen and Lisa DeVol, both of Davenport and Annette Christensen, West Branch; 2 sisters, Marlene Vohringer, Maquoketa and Diana Martin, Arvada, Co. and 6 grandchildren.
