Funeral services for Helen Wagner, 85, Tipton and formerly of Bennett, were held Aug. 14, 1987 at Peace Church of Christ United in Bennett, with the Rev. D. L. Gardella officiating. Ruth Riedesel was the organist and Ardis Rekemeyer was the pianist. Nancy Chittick and Julie Wilkens were the vocalists. Pallbearers were Merlin Latare, Harold Wagner, Kenneth Perkins, Robert Kuehl, Francis Eggert and Todd Eggert. Burial was in Inland cemetery, Bennett.
Miss Wagner died Aug. 12 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City following a brief illness.
The daughter of Frederick and Helena Peters Wagner, she was born Dec. 30, 1902 near Bennett. She attended the rural Cedar county schools. She was a clerk and waitress and a member of Peace church, Women's Fellowship, choir and had been a Sunday school teacher.
Miss Wagner is survived by a sister, Mrs. Albert (Minnie) Loeffler, Bennett and several nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
