Funeral services for Alice Bishop, 71, Tipton, were held July 14, 1987 at Sheets and Son Funeral Home in Tipton, with the Rev. Donald Sondrol officiating. Patty Niehaus was the organist and pallbearers were Jerald Nebergall, Robert Dawson, Keith Chapman, Mike Reynolds, Bill Ward and Ray Schwitzer. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Mrs. Bishop died July 10 at Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Tipton following an extended illness.

The daughter of William and Daisy Simons Sissel, she was born Feb. 2, 1916 in Tipton. She attended the Tipton schools. She married Dewey Bishop July 4, 1929 in Perryville, Mo.

Mrs. Bishop had been a cook at the Quadrangle Center in Iowa City.

She is survived by a son, Donald, Tucson, Ariz.; 3 sisters, Mrs. Elza (Maxine) Dawson, Tipton; Mrs. Elmer (Helen) Wylie, Lincoln, Neb. and Mrs. Ronald (Shirley) Schlueter, Tipton; 3 brothers, Dale Sissel, Marion; Gene Sissel, Tipton and Willam (Billy) Sissel, Tulsa, Okla. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers and a sister.
