Funeral service for Ina Thomas Ellyson, 98, West Branch, were held June 16, 1987 at the West Branch United Methodist church with the Rev. Samuel Hahn officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery. Mrs. Catherine Chase was organist. Thad Long, a great-grandson of Mrs. Ellyson was soloist. Pallbearers were Chuck Krall, Frank Pearson, Floyd Fawcett, Dorrance Scheer, Francis Ruzek and Minard Thomas. A memorial fund has been established. Barker Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ellyson died June 12 at the Crestview Care Center after a long illness.

The daughter of Peter and Martha Thomas, she was born Oct. 5, 1888 in Cedar county. She married Austin Ellyson Sept. 5, 1917 in Cedar County and they farmed in the West Branch area until retirement.

She was a member of the West Branch United Methodist church, the Order of the Eastern Star, Amvets and the T.P.M. Club.

Mrs. Ellyson is survived by 3 sons, Philip, Torrence, Calif. and Iral and Ronald, both of West Branch; a sister, Mrs. Jessie Worrall, West Branch; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a niece and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother.
