Final rites for William H. Steinke, 82, were held at Trinity Lutheran church, Lowden, March 27 with the Rev. Kenneth Martin officiating. Burial was in the Massillon cemetery. Pallbearers were Gary Steinke, Dana Zeller and Dennis, Robert, James and Duane Schroeder. Allan and Randy Schroeder were honorary pallbearers. Mrs. Lorenz Hoffmeier was organist and the Trinty male choir sang.

Mr. Steinke died at the Jackson county hospital, Maquoketa, March 24.

The son of William and Dora Hamdorf Steinke, he was born at Lowden Nov. 12, 1901. He was married to Ella Lange at Lowden Oct. 8, 1926. She died in 1959.

Mr. Steinke had farmed until 1953. He then worked for Strackbein Equipment Co., Lowden until his retirement.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church.

Mr. Steinke is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Wilbert (Lois) Schroeder, Lost Nation; a son, Kenneth, DeWitt; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters, Alma Nordmeyer, Lowden and Velma Peters, Clarence.

He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, 2 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers and a sister.
