Funeral services for Mrs. Donald (Frances Beatrice) Hegarty, 78, Stanwood, were held at Sheets and Son Funeral home March 15 with the Rev. Dick Harberts officiating. Burial was in Red Oak cemetery. Pallbearers were Harold Hass, Floyd Tipton, Earl Howe, Paul Hegarty, Harold Harmsen and Ronald Anderson. Nancy Hipple was vocalist and Sylvian Gould was organist.

Mrs. Hegarty died at Hallmark Nursing home, Mt. Vernon, March 14.

The daughter of Paul and Mary Murphy Springer, she was born at Davenport July 29, 1905. She was educated in the Davenport Public schools and graduated from the Sextonville, WI high school. She was married to Donald B. Hegarty in Tipton Aug. 15, 1925.

A homemaker, she was a resident of the Stanwood area since 1925. She was a member of the Red Oak Presbyterian church, The Red Oak King's Daughters circle and the Tipton Woman's club.

She is survived by her husband, 2 daughters, Mrs. Winifred Becker, Huntsville, AL and Mrs. Gerald (Mary) Riedel, Ft. Wayne, IN; 2 sons, John D. Cedar Rapids and Donald J. Jr., Stanwood; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and a brother, Sam Springer, Minneapolis, MN.

She was preceded in death by a sister and 5 brothers.
