Funeral services for Carl William Kruse, 59, former Tipton resident, were held at St. Andrew Lutheran church, Cedar Rapids, Feb. 16 with burial in the Lisbon cemetery.

Mr. Kruse died at his home in Lisbon, Feb. 13 following a long illness.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl William Kruse, he was born at Tomahawk, Wis., July 8, 1916. The family later spent 2 years in Germany, then returned to the upper peninsula of Michigan. Later they moved to Lisbon where he graduated from high school.

He was married to Marguerite Howard in Cedar Rapids, June 29, 1940. During World War II he served in the Seabees.

Following World War II he came to Tipton where he worked as a bookkeeper for the Tip Top Feeds, predecessor to Honeymead, and then operated an insurance business and bookkeeping service. He moved to Lisbon approximately 13 years ago and had been a salesman in the plumbing and heating department at Sears.

He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran church, Cedar Rapids.

He is survived by his wife, a son Carl, at home; 3 brothers, Dr. Otto Kruse, Tipton and Fred and William, Lisbon and 2 sisters, Mrs. Paul Koch, Lisbon and Catherine Kruse, Iowa City.
