Funeral services for Hans Nickelsen, 76, Clarence, were held Jan. 20 at the Chapman Funeral home with the Rev. Calvin Schumacher officiating. Burial was in the Clarence cemetery.

He died Jan. 17 at the Utopia Nursing Home, Tipton.

Nickelsen was born Sept. 13, 1899 in Germany, the son of Martin and Christina Kettlesen Nickelsen. He worked as a farmhand in the Clarence area.

Survivors are 2 sisters, Mrs. Henry Kohrt, Stanwood and Mrs. Sophia Rehbehn, Germany.
