Funeral services for John (Burr) Aylsworth, 81, were held at the United Methodist church, Stanwood, Jan. 13 with the Rev. Donald Wooge officiating. Burial was in the Olin cemetery.

Pallbearers were Henry Ormsby, William Hansen, and Dean Kurth, Keith Paulsen and Leland Schuman. Mrs. James Brendes, Mrs. Douglas Jackson and Mrs. Clifford Crist sang. Mrs. Calvin Robinson was organist. Mrs. Kenneth Meyer and Mrs. Gene Brown were in charge of flowers.

Mr. Aylsworth died at the Clarence nursing home Jan. 10 following an extended illness.

Masonic services were conducted by Fremont Lodge, AF&AM, Stanwood, at the Sheets and Son funeral home Jan. 12.

The son of Lewis and Sarah Ingram Aylsworth, he was born at Tipton Jan. 27, 1894 and attended the Tipton schools.

He worked as a farm laborer and retired as night marshal at Stanwood. He lived in Stanwood for 50 years and had been living in Clarence for 3 1/2 years.

He was a member of the United Methodist church, Stanwood and a 50 year member of Fremont Lodge, AF&AM.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Harshbarger, Davenport and Mrs. Keith (Barbara) Paulsen, Stanwood; a sister, Mrs. Grace Gabel, Fairhope, Ala., 2 step-daughters, 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, a brother and 2 sisters.
