Charles Wilcox, a former resident of Downey, died at Tucson, Ariz., Dec. 30, following a long illness. Funeral services were held at Mesa, Ariz., Jan. 3.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. B. S. Wilcox, he was born at Macoun, Saskatchewan, Canada, Dec. 10, 1916, and moved with his parents to Downey in 1936. He graduated from West Branch high school.

He was married to Viola Kilnkkammer in Iowa City, Dec. 25, 1945. They moved to Mesa, Ariz., in 1962.

He is survived by his wife, 2 sons, Larry, Oxford and Dennis, Mesa, Ariz.; a daughter, Mrs. Jim (Linda) Arnold, Mesa; 4 grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. B. S. Wilcox, West Liberty; 2 sisters, Mrs. Oscar (Benita) Moore, LaPuente, Calif., and Mrs. Leslie (Lucille) Waters, West Liberty and a brother, Ronald, Phoenix, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by a daughter and his father.
