Last rites for Rudolph Schiele, 94, were held at West Liberty, Dec. 30, with the Rev. Max Paige of the West Branch Methodist church officiating. Burial was in the Downey cemetery.

Mr. Schiele died at a Coralville nursing home, Dec. 29, following a short illness.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schiele, he was born Nov. 13, 1881. He was married to Estella Carl in Tipton, Feb. 18, 1908. He farmed in the Downey area until his retirement.

He is survived by a son, Lysle, West Liberty; 2 daughters, Mrs. Beryle Austin, Newport, Md., and Mrs. Lee (Bernice) Blum, Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. Clara Schiele, Davenport, 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1973.
