Funeral services for Anna Marie Brodene, 83, a former resident of Tipton, were held at the Pedrick Funeral home, Douds, with the Rev. Donald Strauh officiating. Burial was in the Leando cemetery at Douds. Pallbearers were Gerald and Bill Brown, Kenneth Mark and Kent Meyer, Donald Villhauer and Steven Thompson.

Miss Brodene died at the Simpson Memorial home, West Liberty, Dec. 19.

The daughter of Nelse and Julia Jorgenson Brodene, she was born on the Brodene home farm between Troy and Selma, March 17, 1892. She lived on the home farm until 1945, in Des Moines for a short time and had lived with her sister, Mrs. Johannah Thompson in Tipton. She was a clerk in retail stores while living in Tipton.

She was a member of Troy United Methodist church.

She is survived by her sister, a brother, Clarence Brodene, Selma; 2 nieces, Mrs. Kathleen Meyer and Mrs. Marcia Villhauer and 3 nephews, Steven Thompson and Willis and Francis Brodene. She was preceded in death by a brother and 2 sisters.
