Funeral services for Henry Karl Wilhelm Daude, 83, were held at Peace Church of Christ United, Bennett, Nov. 29 with the Rev. Dennis Lamont officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Riedesel were vocalists and Ruth Riedesel organist.
Pallbearers were Robert Grage, Wayne Syring, Wayne Riedesel, Dennis and Dallas Paustian and Larry Hostler.
Mr. Daude died at Cedar Manor, Nov. 27, following an extended illness.
He was born in Wellen, Germany, Aug. 15, 1892 and came to the United States as a young man. He was educated in schools in Germany and attended Brown's Business college in Davenport.
He was married to Melinda E. Edler in Tipton, Jan. 5, 1921. He farmed near Bennett from 1921 to 1946 and had lived in Tipton since then. After he retired from farming he was a clerk for Harned Von Mauer, Davenport and worked as a carpenter.
He was a member of Peace Church United, Bennett.
He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Herschel (Edna) Martin, Bennett; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
