Funeral services for William Schmidt, 70, Bennett, were held at the Sheets and Son Funeral home July 21 with the Rev. Dennis Lamont officiating. Burial was in Inland cemetery.

Pallbearers were Orville Wulf, Victor Mensing, Cecil Burnett, Eugene and Earl Rohlf and Robert Wiedenhoff.

Mr. Schmidt died at Mercy hospital, Davenport, July 18.

The son of Otto and Annie Treimer Schmidt, he was born at Dixon May 12, 1905 and was educated in the Dixon schools. A farmer, he spent his life in the Bennett area.

He is survived by 5 sisters, Mrs. Vernie Schmidt, Bennett; Mrs. George (Alice) Bruhn, Durant; Mrs. Harold (Mildred) Doermann, Clarence, Mrs. Vernon (Marian) Kroeger, Eldridge and Mrs. Elmer (Mabel) Horman, Wheatland and 4 brothers, Harry and Henry, Bennett; Otto, Gladbrook and Clarence, Clarence.
