Funeral services for Clarence G. Hines, 87, Marion, were held at Sheets and Son Funeral Home, Tipton, June 23 with Dr. Glenn Parrott officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were Otho Curtis, Carl Frederick, Douglas Emrich, Richard Wagaman, Roger Hines and Arnold Swan.

Mr. Hines died at Maple Lawn Nursing Home, Marion, June 20 after an extended illness.

The son of Myron and Ruth Farley Hines, he was born in Mechanicsville, Aug. 16, 1887 and was educated in the rural Cedar county and Mechanicsville schools. He married Pearl Carlisle, Nov. 26, 1912, at Cresco. He was a section foreman on the Rock Island lines. He had lived in the Buchanan and Nichols area and in Marion the past 2 1/2 years. He was a past charter member of the Tipton Moose lodge #730.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. William (Wauneta) Hysell, Pascagoula, Minn., and Mrs. Carl (Wandalene) Stout, Cedar Rapids; a son Haven, Marion; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Amber Kruger and Vera Hines, both of Mechanicsville; 2 brothers, Charles, Wilton and Howard, Stanwood. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
