Funeral services for Charlie D. Brown, 87, Stanwood, were held at 2 p.m. June 6 at the United Methodist church, Stanwood. Burial was in Rosehill cemetery, Mechanicsville. Masonic rites were conducted June 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the Chapman Funeral home.

He was born March 10, 1888 in Cedar county, the son of Henry and Elizabeth Ehresman Brown. He was married to Elmae Jeffers at Tipton. She preceded him in death.

On July 25, 1938, he was married to Margaret Ehresman at Fort Worth, Texas. He was a retired farmer, a past master of Fremont Lodge 616 and a member of the Lions club.

Brown died at the Clarence Nursing home, June 4, after an extended illness.

Survivors are his wife, Margaret; a son, Glenn, Olin; 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
