Last rites for William G. Wilke, 80, retired farmer, were held at the Sheets and Son funeral home May 3, with the Rev. DeWayne Kirkeide officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were Harlan and Steve Koch, Keith and Larry Sulzner, Barry Beranek and Randy Wilke. Mrs. Carl Kohrt was vocalist and Mrs. Max Phelps was organist.

Mr. Wilke died following a heart attack at Leesburg, Fla., April 29, where he and Mrs. Wilke were spending the winter. He was dead when he arrived at the Leesburg hospital.

The son of Wilhelm G. and Marie Grage Wilke, he was born at Chicago, Ill., Sept. 4, 1894. He attended school in Chicago and the rural schools of Scott county.

He was married to Henrietta Voight at Rock Island, Ill., May 3, 1917. Following her death he married Louise Humpf at Tipton, Nov. 10, 1973.

Mr. Wilke spent his life in the Tipton area and was a retired farmer. He was a veteran of World War I, serving in France. He was a member of Barracks 146 of the Amvets in Lowden.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church, Stanwood.

Mr. Wilke is survived by his wife, Louise, Leesburg, Fla.; 2 daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Viola) Koch, Tipton; Mrs. Arthur (Evelyn) Sulzner, Mechanicsville, and Mrs. Jack (Alice) Beranek, Davenport; a son, Ralph, Tipton; a step-daughter, Mrs. Vincent (Martha) Wilson, Wheaton, Ill., and a step-son, Melvin Wilke, Denver, Colo.; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Flora Chapman, Tipton and 2 brothers, Rudolph, Louisville, Ky. and Elmer, TIpton.
