Funeral services for John W. Bolin, 95, retired Cedar county farmer, were held at the Sheets and Son funeral home April 15 with the Rev. Michael Thompson officiating. Burial was in Inland cemetery.

Pallbearers were Harlan Reeder, E. W. Bolton, Vernon Lamp, Kermit Spencer, Harold Hass and James Laing. Mrs. Arnold Swan was organist.

Mr. Bolin died at St. Jospeh's hospital, Tucson, Ariz. April 11, following a brief illness. He had lived in Arizona for 8 months, having moved there from Jefferson City, Mo. where he had lived from 1960 to 1974.

The son of Samuel and Zerilda Bolin, he was born at Sullivan, Ill. Dec. 1, 1879 and was educated in the rural schools of Moultrie county, Illinois.

He was married to Ella Mae Lowe at Sullivan, Ill. in 1903. Following her death he was married to Thesta Peters in Tipton in 1928.

Mr. Bolin lived in the Tipton area for 65 years, retiring from farming in 1950 and moving to Jefferson City in 1960.

He was a member of the Presbyterian church.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Francis (Eva) McManus, Tucson, Ariz.; 4 sons, H. Gene, Cedar Falls; Robert G., Cedar Bluffs; Oren E., Kankakee, Ill. and Lt. Col. John W. Bolin Jr., serving with the air force in Germany and a step-son, Prof. William E. Cupp, Northfield, Minn. Also 2 sisters, Mrs. Ruth Pound, Sullivan, Ill. and Mrs. Josephine Ray, Decatur, Ill and 3 brothers, Emmett, Carl and Grover Johnson, all of Illinois.
