Funeral services for Clifford E. Melick, 71, Moscow, were held at the Rochester Methodist church, March 18, with the Rev. Donald Kehrli officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. Mrs. Donald Stiff was organist. Pallbearers were Harold Conley, Harold and Ruel Wehde, Donald and Bill Stiff and Harry Yerington. Honorary pallbearers were Edwin Blake, Bernhardt Stuehm, Nathan Carr and Herbert Townsend.

Mr. Melick died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, March 15.

The son of Jesse W. and Catherine Carney Melick, he was born at Quasqueton, Dec. 1, 1903 and was educated in the Underwood, N.D. schools. He was married to Elsie M. Beiser at Washburn, N.D., March 16, 1935.

A retired farmer, he moved to the Tipton area in 1936 from Underwood, N.D.

He was a member of the Rochester Methodist church and the Golden Rule Lodge, AF & AM, Rochester.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Patrick (Beverly) Gadient, Davenport; 2 granddaughters, and 2 sisters, Mrs. William (Frances) Simmerson, Bloomington, Wis., and Mrs. Floyd (Jessie) Gladwin, Oelwein. He was preceded in death by a daughter.
