Last rites for Joseph Philip (Phil) Krouth, 65, Cedar Bluff, were held at the West Branch Methodist church, March 17, with the Rev. Max E. Paige officiating. Pallbearers were Frank Zapletal, Harry Dodds, Donald Debler, Verne Seaton, Bernard Suchomel, Melvin Stout. Mrs. Marilyn Seward was organist. Cremation followed the service.

Mr. Krouth died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, March 14 following a heart attack.

The son of Joseph Washington and Emily Moore Krouth, he was born at West Branch, May 22, 1909. He was a graduate of West Branch high school and the University of Iowa in 1932. He was married to Doris Kemp at Waukon, Aug. 10, 1927.

An electrical contractor, Krouth lived in Moline, Ill., for many years. He had worked there for the Iowa Electric Light and Power company and the White Electrical company where he was vice-president.

Mr. and Mrs. Krouth moved to Cedar Bluff in 1964.

He was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Rock Island, Ill.

He is survived by his wife, a son, Robert, Moline; 3 daughters, Mrs. Richard (Jean) Papenhausen, Moline; Mrs. A. G. (Phildora) Weaver, Rocklin, Calif., and Mrs. Ronald (Karen) Aldinger, Edgerton, Ohio; 3 sisters, Mrs. Ruth Foraker, Iowa City; Mrs. Irene Clausen, Silver Springs, Md., and Mrs. Helen Weymiller, New Albin; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
