Funeral services for Walter H. Statts, 77, were held at the Sheets and Son funeral home Jan. 25 with Jordon Jaeger officiating. Burial was in the Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were Leo Nebergall, Melvin Riedesel, Lyle Elgin, Aaron Tuttle, Bill Wehde and Larry Hoyer. Mrs. Nancy Whitman was organist.

Mr. Statts died at his home near Tipton Jan. 23 following an extended illness.

The son of Charles H. and Ellen R. Schell Statts, he was born near Tipton March 3, 1897. He was educated in the rural schools of Cedar county and was married to Josephine Adams Nov. 27, 1924.

A lifetime resident of the Tipton area he was a retired plumber. He was a member of Kingdom hall in Tipton.

He is survived by his wife, a son, Calvin, Muscatine, 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son and brother.
