Funeral services for William (Bill) Kruse, 74, retired Bennett area farmer, were held at Peace United Church of Christ Jan. 24 with the Rev. Dennis Lamont officiating. Burial was in Davenport Memorial park cemetery.

Pallbearers were George Straub, Ernest Cawiezell, Leonard Schwitzer, John Krummel, Carl Kleppe and Rolland Claussen. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Riedesel were vocalists and Mrs. Riedesel organist.

Mr. Kruse died at a Wilton nursing home Jan. 22 following a brief illness.

The son of Peter and Gertrude Miller Kruse, he was born near Montpelier July 2, 1900 and was educated in the rural schools of Cedar county. He was married to Mamie Lausen at Davenport Jan. 10, 1923. He farmed in the Bennett area until last year when he moved to Bennett.

He is survived by his wife and a brother, Leonard (Tom), Wilton; a niece, Mrs. Robert (Lois) Agne, Tipton and 2 nephews, Howard Lausen, Tipton and Eugene Kruse, Cedar Falls.
