Funeral services for Jurgen Wendt, 77, retired Clarence farmer, were held at St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence, Jan. 29 with the Rev. Calvin Schumacher officiating. Pallbearers were Peter and Chris Ketelsen, Carl Hendricksen, Ray Kohrt and Carl and Paul Bartels. Burial was in St. John's cemetery.

Mrs. Robert Hasselbusch was organist and the church choir sang. Mrs. Paul Bartels and Mrs. Roy Sanderson were in charge of flowers.

Mr. Wendt died at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, Jan. 26.

The son of Peter and Dorothea Kuhr Wendt, he was born in Germany Sept. 28, 1897 and was married to Anna Nickelsen at Clinton Dec. 19, 1930.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. William (Betty) Larkey, Oxford Junction and Mrs. Lawrence (Dorothy) Brockholn, Anamosa; a son, Wilbert, Clarence and 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife.
