Mechanicsville - Funeral services for Albert Boots, 82, were held Jan. 8 at 10:30 a.m. in the United Methodist church with the Rev. Donald Wooge officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. Mr. Boots died Jan. 5 in St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids.

Albert Augustus Boots was born April 25, 1892, the son of Robert and Angeline Tallman Boots, near Morley. He was married to Bertha May Haynor Feb. 25, 1914 at Morley. They farmed for many years moving to Mechanicsville in 1951 where he remained active at various jobs until retiring.

Mr. Boots was preceded in death by his wife Bertha, in 1962, his parents, a brother and a sister.

He is survived by 6 children, Mrs. Lewis (Pauline) Gamble and Mrs. Charles (Doris) Harness, both of Mechanicsville; Mrs. Kenneth (Alberta) Fairley, Onslow; Mrs. Leland (Geraldine) Meineke, Anamosa; Everett Keith Boots, Palo and Mrs. Andrew (Shirley) Borntreger, Council Bluffs; also a brother, Clarence, 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
