November 21, 1974 - The Tipton Conservative

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma A. Henkel, 82, were held at the Sheets and Son funeral home Nov. 19 with the Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ralph Krummel, Harry Schott, Siegfried Petersen, Fedale McIntosh, Hilbert Whitmer and Bruno Storjohann. Mrs. William Ziba and Gertrude Kruse were in charge of flowers. Music was by the National Music service.

Mrs. Henkel died at Osteopathic hospital, Davenport, Nov. 16, following a brief illness.

The daughter of William and Cicelia Ahrens Ruhmann, she was born in Holstein, Germany Feb. 4, 1892, and was educated in the schools of that area. She was married to Carl Henkel at Bennett Sept. 15, 1927. She was a member of the South Bethel Methodist church.

The Henkels farmed in the Tipton area until 1962 when they moved to Tipton. Mr. Henkel died in 1971.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Anita) Daufeldt, Tipton; 3 sons, Ernest, Tipton; Albert, New Liberty and Walter, Riverdale and 2 sisters, Mrs. Helene Schade and Mrs. Alwine Trede, Holstein, Germany.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
