Funeral services for Edwin H. Harmel, 56, were held at St. Paul's Lutheran church, Bennett, Oct. 2 with the Rev. Wendell Henkenmeier officiating. Burial was in Inland cemetery.

Pallbearers were Lawrence Belter, Ronald Odette, Roscoe Woods, Robert Schneider, Erwin Behrens and Sylvan Kleppe. Mrs. Wendell Henkenmeier was organist with congregational singing. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Stevens were in charge of flowers.

Mr. Harmel was dead on arrival at Mercy hospital, Davenport, after suffering a heart attack at his home Sept. 28.

The son of Paul and Emma Brockmeyer Harmel, he was born near Lowden, Jan. 31, 1918 and attended the parochial school at Lowden. He was married to Marjorie Brannaman at Nashua, Aug. 7, 1940. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church.

He spent his life in the Bennett area where he was a farmer and implement dealer.

He is survived by his wife, 2 sons, Jerry, Bennett and Robert, Davenport; a brother, Elmer, Tipton and 5 grandchildren.
