Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Elizabeth Burroughs, 88, were held at the Sheets and Son Funeral home Sept. 13 with the Rev. Donald E. Wooge and Dr. Glenn Parrott officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were Max Crawford, Roger Purviance, Vern Nebergall, Floyd Winekauf, Harry Gerber and Arnold Hennings. Mrs. John Swift was vocalist and Mrs. Irma Crawford was organist. Helping Hand Rebekah services were held at the funeral home.

Mrs. Burroughs died at Mercy hospital, Cedar Rapids, Sept. 10 following an extended illness.

The daughter of Henry L. and Emmaline E. Reed Schneider, she was born near Tipton, July 23, 1886 and was educated in the rural schools of Cedar county. She was married to George R. Burroughs in Tipton, Feb. 24, 1921.

She was a lineotype operator at the Tipton Advertiser and for the Ames Daily Tribune, living in Ames for the past 30 years, until she entered the Clarence Nursing home 4 months ago. She was a member of the Collegiate Presbyterian church, Ames, and a 65 year member of Helping Hand chapter of the Rebekah lodge.

She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ray A. (Gladys) Potter and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothera.
