Mrs. Freda Lehrman Johnson, widow of Clifford Johnson, passed away Monday, Sept. 9 at Cedar Manor nursing home after a long illness.

Funeral services were held Sept. 12 at the Mechanicsville Methodist church with the Rev. Mike Thompson officiating. Pallbearers were Erwin Lehrman, Merle Lehrman, WIlliam Koch, Melvin Lehrman, Arnold Lehrman and James Gerber.

Born Oct. 15, 1902 to Louis and Minnie Wenndt Lehrman at their farm home northwest of Stanwood, she was a graduate of Stanwood high school and attended Iowa State Teachers college and Cornell college.

She was married to Clifford Johnson, March 18, 1923 at Stanwood. They had 2 daughters, Mrs. Melvin Thien, Tipton and Mrs. Robert Geiger, Amana; 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren. Mrs. Johnson had 3 sisters: Mrs. Bertha Koch, Emma Bradd and Rose Gerber; and one brother, Paul Lehrman.

Mrs. Johnson was well known for her knowledge of antiques and she and her husband had an antique business after moving to Stanwood from Davenport 10 years ago.

She was a member of the Stanwood Methodist church and women's society, Cedar County Historical and Davenport Museum societies, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
